5th and 6th Graders.the "IN-BETWEENERS." Who are these strange young people?
Well, they are.
.hitting puberty.or not!
.concrete thinkers: don't get metaphors & abstract word pictures.
.like childish things, but often don't want to admit it.
.more aware of culture & society than parents think.but face it without critical thought.
.in transition! 5th graders are at the top of the elementary food chain.6th graders are flirting with middle school life.
Recognizing that "tweeners" are "in between," with a unique set of needs, we want to be more intentional about providing ministry that is specifically suited to this group of young people.
Here is the plan, which will begin on Sunday, June 6th.
-We will begin Sunday school for 5th/6th grades at the West Campus.
-During the 10:45 worship service on Sunday mornings, 5th/6th graders will worship with their parents in the gym and will be dismissed after offering to their own class upstairs in the FLC.
-On Sunday evenings, 5th/6th will join our 7th/8th graders in some of the components of their weekly program, but will have their own teaching time with topics more suitable to their station in life. (This will be at the West Campus from 6-8 p.m.)
-This new ministry will be called "Fusion 56."
